From Ontario women’s keiko kai:
Dear kendo clubs,
We would like to invite your female members to participate in our first women’s keiko kai of 2014.
This practice will be lead by Team Canada women prospects and female senseis. We will be sharing with you various waza and drills that are part of our training in preparation for the World Kendo Championships in Tokyo 2015. This will be a good opportunity for kendo Ontario women to acquire tips specific to women’s kendo.
We hope that this practice will bring together female kendoka from around Eastern Canada and facilitate the growth of the community. Our goal is to increase the level and quality of technical skills in female kendoka. The energy and eagerness that will be brought forth through the participation of fellow female kendoka will in turn help Team Canada prospects become stronger, increasing the chance of more Eastern players on the National women’s team. We look forward to seeing you all at the practice!
Although no formal registration is needed to participate, we will need an approximate number of participants and rank levels to organize an efficient practice. Club representatives, please RVSP by sending a list of participants with club’s name, participant’s name and dan/rank by Sunday February 16, 2014.
