Kendo Ontario New Year Godo Keiko

Happy New Year and Best Wishes for 2018 !

This is a friendly reminder that Kendo Ontario’s New Year Godo Keiko will be held this Sat Jan 13, 2018 @ 1:00pm @ Nikka Gakuen Kendo dojo.

This is an excellent opportunity to start the year by sharing keiko with Senior Sensei and friends in the Kendo community.

Special Note:

This year, the event will be hosted by Nikka Gakuen Kendo Club!!

It’s a pleasure to see Nikka Gakuen Kendo Club grow and mature over the years and we are pleased that they have volunteered to host this year’s New Year Godo Keiko.

In addition to hosting Godo Keiko, the parents of the junior members of Nikka Gakuen will be serving light refreshments in the form of OZONI (traditional rice cake in soup) to participants.

Please join us for the first Godo Keiko of 2018!

Time:                  1:00 p.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m., followed by light refreshments (Ozoni – traditional rice cake in soup)

We would like to announce the details of the 2018 New Years Kendo Ontario Godo Geiko. All bogu members are invited to attend this annual event and be a part of celebrating the start of another year with your kendo community.

Date: Saturday, January 13, 2018.

Time: From 1:00PM to approximately 2:30PM, followed by a small refreshment

Location: Dr Norman Bethune Collegiate Institute, 200 Fundy Bay Boulevard, Scarborough, ON, M1W 3G1 (see map below).

Kendo Ontario New Year’s Godokeiko

To: All Kendo Sensei and dojo members in Ontario;

We would like to wish you and your families all the very best for the holiday season. And we look forward to working with you to develp kendo in Ontario 2017.

On Saturday January 7th, at 2pm at University of Toronto, we will be holding our annual New Years Kendo Ontario godo keiko for all members. Anyone with bogu is welcome to attend.

We encourage all Ontario kendo players to come out to this event. Start the New Year with kendo friends and enjoy keiko together.

2016 Fall Ontario Junior Kendo Tournament

Registration Reminder – Ontario Junior Godo Keiko

I hope everyone has enjoyed the summer break and now ready to get back into the swing of things.  As a friendly reminder, the next Ontario Junior Godo Keiko will be held on Sunday September 25th, hosted by the Burlington Kendo Club.  Registration deadline is SEPTEMBER 11th.  Please send in the attached club registration directly to the Burlington Kendo Club.  The waiver (also attached) will need to be signed for each participant by parents or legal guardians.  Looking forward to another successful event.

Markham Rensei-kai (+ Godo keiko) – Oct. 15th (Sat)

Dear Sensei and fellow kendoka,

The Markham Kendo Club would like to remind everyone that on Saturday, October 15, 2016, we will be hosting a shiai practice Rensei-kai + Godo Keiko event at the Markham Pan Am Center. We will be inviting all dojos in Ontario to take part in an organized event that will allow for participants to practice their shiai kendo as well as referee duties in a more formal setting against teams from other dojos. We would like to provide some more details regarding this event. Please see the attached PDF document. While this is still a Draft document, the main details about this event will not change significantly.
The registration deadline is September 30th.
If there are any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know. Contact information is included in the PDF document.

Osaka Prefecture University Kendo – NEW GODO-KEIKO @ THU SEP 8 @ JCCC

As announced earlier, the Osaka Prefecture University Kendo Club is visiting Toronto next month.
2 events (hosted by the U of T Kendo Club) have been confirmed for Sep 10 and Sep 11 (see below)

In addition, the JCCC Kendo Club will be hosting a Godo-Keiko for the Osaka Prefecture University Kendo Delegation on Thursday September 8, 2016 from 7:30 – 8:45pm @ The JCCC.
Everyone is welcome to attend!

After the Godo-Keiko, the group plans to go out for dinner. Please have one representative from each dojo provivde the number of their members interested in attending dinner. Please send the info to [email protected] Note: Dinner price to be confirmed.
